Drypoint on perspex, hard ground on copper etching course
In this course you will create two small editions from two different plates; a sheet of acrylic and a copper plate.
Drypoint is literally drawing with a dry point, scratching lines that hold ink into the perspex sheet. This will make a plate that allows you to reproduce an image over and over again. It is etching without acid.
Hard ground is a traditional etching technique in which a hard wax coating is rolled over a copper plate, which you then draw into revealing the metal. Etched in acid it bites lines into the plate which hold ink that can be repeatedly printed on paper. Suitable for beginners.
Cost is £70 including materials.
An evening course over three Thursdays (Oct 11th, 18th, 25th) 6-8.30pm
